The Deaf Action Center is committed to helping the deaf and hearing impaired lead independent and productive lives. Our caring, professional staff provides a variety of services including interpreting, instruction, equipment, advocacy and more. We serve the Louisana parishes of Livingston, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington.
Mission Statement
The purpose of Deaf Action Center North Shore, Inc. is to serve as a coordinating, cooperative and referral center for hearing, speech and visually impaired individuals. Deaf Action Center North Shore seeks to cooperate with present agencies and organizations working in the field of deafness and other hearing, speech, visual and other disabilities and to help maintain independence through interpreting services and/or communicative devices. It will constantly evaluate its own purposes and accomplishments in relation ship to the current and future needs of deaf and other hearing impaired persons. It will seek to fill the needs which are not being met fully as determined by objective evaluations and/or will encourage other agencies and organizations to meet the needs.
